What we collect

About you

• Your name and email address, and your Google account connection if you sign in that way.
• Sign-in activity and sessions.
• Delivery addresses you save: a name, street address, city, state, and ZIP.
• Your membership and order history: what you approved, the amount, and the date.

About the people on your list

• Their name and your relationship to them.
• Their gender and age range, if you tell us.
• The occasions and dates you add, and the budget you set for each one.
• The interest categories you pick for them, and the ones you rule out.

What you write

• Greeting card messages.

Payment details

• Held by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number.

Technical

• Server logs from hosting, which include IP addresses and request details, and the cookies described below.

Cookies

We use cookies to keep you signed in (Clerk) and to serve and secure the site (Vercel). No advertising or tracking cookies.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of services to run zebrabanana. Each gets only what it needs.

• Clerk (sign-in): your name, email, Google connection, and sign-in sessions.
• Stripe (payments and tax): your name, email, card details, and charge history. When you check out, we also pass your list to Stripe with the payment so your membership is only created once payment succeeds. That includes each person's name, your relationship to them, their gender and age range if given, their occasions and dates, the budget per occasion, and the interest categories chosen. When you approve a gift, we pass the delivery name and address so tax can be calculated and the payment recorded.
• Airtable (our records): your list, occasions and budgets, saved addresses, card messages, and orders.
• Resend (email): your email address and first name, and the name and occasion of the person a pick list is for.
• Vercel (hosting): technical logs.
• Partners, retailers, and makers: the delivery name and address, and your card message, when we place an order for you. Only what is needed to ship it.

We don't sell your information, we don't share it for advertising, and we don't send text messages.

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect the service and the people who use it.

How long we keep it

While your account is open, and for as long afterwards as we need it for tax, accounting, and legal records. Delete your account and we remove your list from our records; charge records stay with Stripe under their retention rules.

Your choices

• Edit or remove anyone on your list, at any time, from your account.
• Edit your name and email, or delete your account, from your profile.
• Stop recurring membership from your account page.
• Email us to ask what we hold about you, or to ask us to correct or delete it.

People on your list

The people on your list aren't our customers, and they can't sign in. We only hold what you give us about them, we only use it to choose and send their gift, and we delete it when you remove them. Please only add people whose details you are comfortable sharing, and tell us if someone asks to be taken off a list.

Children

zebrabanana is for adults. Don't create an account if you're under 18. Age ranges you give for people on your list, including children, are ranges, not birth dates.

Security

Access to our records is limited to the people who run the service. Payment details stay with Stripe. No system is perfect, so tell us straight away if something looks wrong with your account.

Where we operate

zebrabanana is a United States service and we deliver to United States addresses only. Information is processed in the United States by us and the services above.

Changes

We'll update this page when what we do changes, and email you if the change matters.
